This exam may be the first core exam you take. It won't be the worst one in all likelihood. Microsoft has always loaded some of the more unfamiliar operating system features into its client-oriented exams. This one is no exception. Be familiar will Remote Installation Services, Sysprep, RIPrep, the Setup Manager and unattended answer files. User profiles, multi-language support, accessibility issues, fax support and Windows Installer also figure into the mix. As you start to get more serious about networking and Windows 2000 you'll need to discover what Windows 2000 Server can do for you or your organization. Studying for this exam can be a learning experience. From installing Windows 2000 Server to using it to grant users access to resources, to upgrading it, to optimizing it, to troubleshooting it, to backing it up - you'll need to know a lot about a big and powerful product. Microsoft can fill you in on the details and CBT Vision can too. - Implementing and Administering a MS Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure Examiner (70-216)
This exam is about building an infrastructure so that everything and everyone can connect- preferably using Microsoft products and technologies. This can be a difficult task. From all reports, this can be a difficult exam. You need to know about installing, configuring, and troubleshooting DNS, how to make DHCP and RRAS work and a host of other topics. We are here to help and so are they. - Implementing and Administering a Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure (70-217)
It's a whole new way of networking for Windows. It's active. It has objects. Coming to terms with it can take a while. Once you do, you'll be creating sites, subnets, site links, and connection objects. You'll configure server objects. You will be able to install, configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot DNS and other network services for an Active Directory environment. You'll implement Group Policies in a seamless fashion.
